Atyever soup is a slippery Nigerian soup made from jute leaves. It is consumed by people from the Tiv tribe, and it is easy to prepare.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- Atyever (jute) leaves, rinsed and sliced
- Water
- Palm oil
- Fish, rinsed
- Pepper, blended
- Maggi cubes
- Salt to taste
Procedure[edit | edit source]
- Boil the atyever leaves.
- Combine the palm oil, fish, blended pepper, and boiled atyever leaves in a pot. Cook for few minutes.
- Add maggi and salt to taste, then stir slowly until the soup is slippery enough.
- Serve.
