Commercially-available jarred almond butter

Almond butter is a nut butter made by grinding almonds to a smooth paste. It should not be confused with almond paste, which contains added sugar. The almonds may be roasted before grinding, which adds a depth of flavor to the final product. Salt is often added for additional flavor, and commercially-produced varieties can sometimes contain an emulsifier to prevent separation of the solids and oil.
