Adalu is a porridge of beans and corn, common among the western people of Nigeria. It is known as Ẹwa ati Agbado among the Yoruba people, and Agwa na oka among the Igbo. It can be served with bread and garri.

Procedure[edit | edit source]

  1. Pick over the beans to remove dirt and stones.
  2. Boil water. Add the corn, and cook until the corn becomes soft.
  3. Add the cleaned beans to the cooked corn, and allow both to boil together.
  4. After few minutes of cooking, add all remaining ingredients.
  5. Smash everything together, then allow it to cook for like five minutes. Add any of the optional ingredients, if using.
  6. Serve with bread and garri.
