Since the publication of Manuel Castells' book The Internet Galaxy in 2001, there have been enormous changes to the Society.

In this chapter we will look specifically that those changes which go by the name Social Web.

In 2001, Castells opposed "Virtual Communities" to the "Network Society" (p.116). After a chapter of detailed analysis he concludes that perhaps that "individuals are in fact reconstructing the pattern of social interaction [...] to create a new form of society: the network society." (p.133).

We need to look for evidence to see if in fact there is a reconstruction of social interaction.
