Adhiban Gambit[edit | edit source]

The Adhiban Gambit rose to prominence in 2021, when Neural Network Leela Zero inspired strong GM Adhiban Baskaran to play this for the first time in the Meltwater Rapid Indian Qualifier, which is the qualifier for the prestigious Meltwater rapid. This has overtaken the popular Bellon Gambit (4..b5!?) which was refuted in the pre-computer era. As this opening is relatively new, theory is still developing.
