The names of chapters and sections should be in sentence casing.

Record examples[edit | edit source]

Human-readable MARC[edit | edit source]

The majority of examples in this book will be in human-readable MARC format. Enclose human-readable MARC examples within <syntaxhighlight enclose="div" lang="text"></syntaxhighlight> tags.

Raw MARC format[edit | edit source]

Examples should only be given in raw MARC format when illustrating something about raw MARC format (e.g. discussing transformations from raw MARC to human-readable MARC). Enclose raw MARC examples within <code></code> tags.

XML format[edit | edit source]

Examples should only be given in XML when illustrating something about XML (e.g. discussing MarcXML records). Enclose XML examples within <syntaxhighlight enclose="div" lang="xml"></syntaxhighlight> tags.
