The first speed is the slowest. The second speed is twice as fast as the first, the third speed twice as fast as the second, and so on. It is recommended for the first speed to be 4 seconds per beat.

Incomplete Counts in Varisais (Songs)[edit | edit source]
If at the end of a varisai you have not finished the thalam repeat, you must do either of the following:
- repeat the varisai
- sing the varisai's last two lines
