Beekeeping/Brood Nest

From Wikibooks, open books for an open world

The brood nest is contained in the hive body. The "hive body" is the boxes containing the brood area and main food storage of the colony. The internal dimensions of the hive body and supers are critical to maintain proper bee space.

One option in the brood nest is the HSC fullydrawn smallcell brood frame. It uses the 4.9mm cell size that restricts drone production and shortens time to capping and emergence. It is an excellent option for those that are starting packages and do not have drawn comb. Additionally the small cell is reported to have significant longterm effects on hive health.
