Cross-Battery Assessment[edit | edit source]

The Cross Battery Assessment model takes as it starting point the idea of multiple intelligences in multiple areas. The model includes a distinction between fluid (ability to reason) and crystallized (facts) intelligence. This model has become quite popular of late. Recently, popular cognitive and achievement tests have started including this model explicitly in their structure. These include the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Cognitive Abilities (WJ-III COG) and the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement, Third Edition (WJ-III ACH). The Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children, Second Edition (KABC-II) also specifically addresses this model.
