I'm a PhD mathematician with some teacher training under my belt, and I'm very frustrated with the Maths textbook area on this site - there appears to be no focus for contributions.

Answer this: Are we trying to create a seminal work on mathematics that has usefuls tidbits of the basis on arithmetics that university professors would find insightful, or are we instead trying to teach basic arithmetic to an 11 year old?

It seems that the current pages are achieving neither.
