Otalgia


Sensory innervation of the ear:

  • Auriculotemporal branch of the trigeminal nerve (CV V)
  • Ramsey-Hunt branch of facial nerve (CV VII)
  • Arnold branch of the vagus nerve (CN X)
  • First and second cervical nerves


Noxious stimulation of any above-mentioned branches may be interpreted as otalgia
