The Flutterby bush, apparently a purely decorative plant, is treasured for its delicate, fluttering leaves that move even when there is no wind, giving the bush a shimmering appearance.

In Harry's fourth year, his class are called upon to prune flutterby bushes in Herbology class.

Flutterby bushes appear again as decoration at the doorway to the Burrow just before Bill and Fleur's wedding.
