Alekhine Defence[edit | edit source]

The so-called Alekhine Knights come out to attack White's center, with d4 under attack. White must now defend the pawn. The main line is 7.Be3. 7.Nf3 is strongly met by 7...Bg4 with strong pressure on the center.
