To perfectly reconstruct the digital signal that was got by sampling an analog signal, the Sampling Theorem must be followed.

Sampling Theorem states that a sampling frequency must be at least twice the highest (maximum) frequency.

Fs>=2Fm

where

  • Fs is the sampling frequency
  • Fm is the maximum frequency of the signal to be sampled
