Ginger tea is a typical Nigerian drink derived from ginger that is soothing and easy to prepare. Some use it to soothe coughs and sore throats. It is also sometimes consumed to warm up the body during cold conditions.

Procedure[edit | edit source]

  1. Cut ginger into small pieces, and rinse to remove dirt.
  2. Add water to the sliced ginger and bring to a boil.
  3. Allow to simmer for a few minutes, then strain the drink to remove ginger particles.
  4. Add sweetener to taste, and serve.
