The Volcanoes/Special Topics page will cover phenomena like supervolcanoes.
Supervolcanoes[edit | edit source]
Supervolcanoes, compared to eruptions like Tambora, are simply giants. A supervolcano is ten times the size of a VEI 7 eruption, like Tambora, and their destruction could happen again. About 74,000 years ago, Mt. Toba erupted in Sumatra, Indonesia, with an apocalyptic eruption that reduced the human race to around 5-10,000 survivors.
