Ojojo is a Nigerian fritter made of grated yam. It can be eaten with pap/ogi, like akara, or alone as a snack.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- Yam
- Pepper
- Onion, chopped
- Stock cube
- Salt
- Groundnut oil or vegetable oil
Procedure[edit | edit source]
- Peel the yam, cut into slices, then rinse with water.
- Grate the sliced yam using a grater.
- Add the pepper, onions, stock cube, and salt to taste. Mix all ingredients together.
- Heat a layer of oil in a pan. Scoop spoonfuls of batter a little at a time into the oil. Fry for about a minute, then flip over and cook until golden brown on the other side.
- Serve hot.
