Hi Mary!

When I was reading your "About the Author" page, Blackstone caught my eye. I have a relative that is a police officer in Blackstone and another that works for VDOT. Also, I adopted my two cats from Donna at Critter Care. Small world, huh?

I think that it is wonderful that you have chosen to work towards your teaching license. Your work as an intructional assistant has and will continue to provide you with much needed experience. I have been a substitute and taught for one full year before making the decision to move forward with my education. Like you, I know the experience I gained in the classroom will serve me well in the future.

I, too, also prefer working with upper elementary students, specifically special education. I love to use tecnology in the classroom and love using the SMART board. It is great for showing multimedia clips, Powerpoint presentations, and allowing the students to participate in interactive lessons. What student likes to hear the teacher go on and on about a topic? Technology keeps students interested in the lesson being presented.

Good luck this semester and keep up the hard work!
