Hello Maggie,

I was reviewing your article and I couldn't find the answers to your multiple choice questions. Post these soon so you don't forget! Have a great week! Jkauf007 (talk) 13:21, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Maggie! I didn't know you had a 2-year old daughter! We'll have more to talk about next time I see you in class since I also have an 18-month old little girl. I can't wait to see a picture of her! We have a lot in common. I am also a youth leader at my church - I work with teens, but I also teach 3-5 year olds in Children's Church. Well, good luck with this class and I will see you on Friday! Halde002 (talk) 21:32, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your daughter is the cutest thing I have ever seen, and I love her name! I love the picture at the bottom! Me and my sister teach a CCD class at our church also and we teach basically Preschool-1st grade. Its fun to teach them, but its also difficult because they get distracted so easily, and its a small church so we have about 4 kids in our class. They never really like to speak out in the class. Hello Maggie, I think you daughter is absolutely perfect! and I agree her name is quite fitting. I have a five year-old so little girls hold a special place in my heart. I agree with you about the over emphasis on standardized assessments. It really limits the level of creativity in the classroom because time is of the essence. I am hoping that there will be a shift in thinking soon in American education, I think I'll stick around awhile to see what's going to happen. Enjoy your weekVrsingmom (talk) 16:18, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Maggie. Your daughter is absolutely adorable. I do agree with making education as much fun and hands on as possible. Children do learn more when they are interested and motivated by the material. I, also, remember cramming for a test and simply forgeting everything I thought I learned. Children learn in different ways and just simply putting a book in front of them and telling them to learn does not work. It's our responsibility as teachers to make learning as fun as possible with a variety of teaching methods. Lrussell001 (talk) 18:34, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I could not agree with you more when you talk about how children do not learn sitting at their desk all day. I also can remember the pressure as a young child of tests. It is our job as teachers to see that all of the children in our class learn differently, we must adapt to them!Sboot010 (talk) 18:44, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
