Cry for help answered[edit source]

Yeah that looks great on the honor of marine invertabrates. I went through the honor and simplified some of the answers.

Thank you[edit source]

Counter vandalism bots[edit source]

Dear Jomegat, This is just a quick follow up from the folks working with the The_Devonshire_Manuscript. We were so glad of your help before, and are hoping you will point us in the right direction. We are hoping to ensure the longevity of the book and are looking for a way to keep on top of vandalism. We are all in favour of contributions and amendments to the text, but want to keep an eye out for destructive changes (ie wholesale deletions, profanity, and the like). One of our team members, user:Cultures4, has been looking into using bots -- do you have any advice on which ones we should consult and the kind of admin status we would need to use them? This would be better to post in a general discussion board, simply because I am not an expert on bots (and there are those here who are). You can run a bot without any special permissions, but it is best to make small test runs first. There is a bot flag which requires community approval, but all that does is flag the edit as having been made by a bot, and some people (many?) suppress bot edits when they view the recent changes page. That said, it's probably not necessary to run your bot. The people who patrol recent changes are almost certain to notice the kinds of vandalism you describe and revert it manually. --Jomegat (discusscontribs) 21:26, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help with article about Pathfinder[edit source]

Hello Jomegat, okay? I request your help to adjust and correct the entry "Pathfinders (Seventh-day Adventist)" of the English Wikipedia. Looking for your help, because you have declared "Master Guide" in Pathfinder, and the great work what you accomplished here at Wikibooks. I am also a "Master Guide" on Pathfinder, but I am Brazilian and I have little knowledge of English, which makes my job that entry. I thank you. The last time I looked at that article, it needed some very serious help. I will consider working on it if I can find some time. --Jomegat (discusscontribs) 01:34, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was very surprised to see you nominate the book for deletion on WB. I understand the rationale behind the decision, and I hope the project will continue to be a success in its new home. Will you stay after the deletion of the book? (I hope you will!) Kayau (talk · contribs) 05:29, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the kinds words. I will probably check in every now and then, but not very often. I have not made many edits at all in the past couple of years anyhow, so my presence here has been all but invisible. The project is doing very nicely at its new home, and it was very gratifying when it was adopted as the "official" answer book. That was the payoff for eight years of hard work. It is now being translated into Spanish, and we have the hooks in place for other translations (all we need is translators). Having the insignia images is a huge boon, and the automated indexing is nothing short of awesome. The big problem we face there now is that most people still come here. I don't know how many times I have been asked why we don't have such-and-such on the wiki when we do - they're just looking in the wrong place. --Jomegat (discusscontribs) 00:54, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Widget workaround[edit source]

Hi there, I saw www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:U4k1icff0yfhpayl your issue on mediawiki that you worked around. I'm having www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:U81pve3jr4izda5i the same issue, if you had a moment, if you could elaborate on how you worked around this it'd be much appreciated!
