Georgia Nongame Wildlife Conservation Programs Act of 1985 , O.C.G.A. §§ 12-3-600

General Description[edit | edit source]

Authorizes the Department of Revenue to establish a mechanism and create a fund into which citizens may donate money to the state for the purpose of conservation of non-game species.

Purpose[edit | edit source]

The Act seeks to conserve non-game species of wildlife for the benefit and non-consumptive use of Georgia citizens. The revenues generated from hunting and fishing licenses have not been adequate to provide for the conservation of non-game species.

Function[edit | edit source]

Donations may be made via an option listed on individual’s tax returns. Further, the Department or Revenue may solicit revenue via any other approved means.
