Did you know that Tundra is the coldest biome. Tundra means treeless plain. There are two different types of Tundra's: Arctic Tundra and Alpine Tundra. The characteristics:
* cold climate
* simple vegetation
* Short season on growth and reproduction
* Energy and nutrient form of dead material
* Large population of animals.
penguins also live in the tundra biome.

In the Alpine tundra trees can't grow, the growing season is 180 days. The night temp is below freezing at night. Tundra have similar plants such as :

  • Dwarf trees
  • Small leafed Shrubs

Igloos can be found in the tundra biome.

Igloos are made of ice and snow.

Igloos are warmer than outside so they can be used fro people to survive.
