Mansee Bal Bhargava is Executive Director at SaciWATERs Hyderabad. She was a Fulbright-Nehru Fellow in 2016-17 and was hosted by Prof. Marco Janssen at the School of Sustainability at ASU Tempe, USA.

She inherits the surnames Bal from father and Bhargava from husband. In Hindi, Bal refers to strength and determination; and Bhargava is associated to vedic rituals and ayurved. SHe embrace these meanings in her being.

She is an entrepreneur-researcher-educator by profession. She is a trans-disciplinary practitioner. Her work is dedicated towards building better built environments through planning, designing, management and governance. Her forte is to comprehend the complex social and ecological aspects of the living environment from multiple angles. The scholarship is augmented with methodical, analytical and communicative abilities. She considers adhering to the sustainability and liveability principles of the living environment as a duty. Her urge to learn, share and excel is continuum as they nurture the prospects of the living environments and the individuals and organisations, with whom she collaborates.

Her consultancy work is about landscape, master planning, urban design and architecture for large scale residential, recreational, institutional, industrial, developments through Environmental Design Consultants, EDC, Ahmedabad. She partners EDC with her husband Akshay Bhargava, who is a Landscape Architect by profession and Ecotheologist by passion.

Her research focus is on governance and sustainability of social-ecological systems like urban water bodies. She has her PhD on 'Social-Ecological System Framework: Understanding Urban Lake Governance and Sustainability in India' from Erasmus University Rotterdam. She has produced a number of papers, essays, reports on this subject.

Her teaching is diverse in field and affiliation. She conducts courses, lectures, workshops, training, supervisions related to design, planning, management and governance of built and natural environments for university students as well as executives across several multiple disciplines and regions. She has developed a number of courses that is interested to teach.
