The Dark Is Rising Sequence is a series of 5 books written by Susan Cooper, aimed at young readers. The books are set in late 20th century England and Wales, but refer to British history. The purpose of this book is to provide background information for the history and geography of the books.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

To get started, a list of terms and characters can be created.

  • Non fictional terms can be expanded upon using imports from wikipedia, which can then be modified to fit into this book
  • Character descriptions, plot summaries, and fictional terms can be compiled following the style of the Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter.

Audience[edit | edit source]

This book should be addressed to young readers (perhaps ages 11 and up), for use as a personal study guide or as a classroom teacher's guide.
