From Wikibooks, open books for an open world

Chiang Wei-shui and Lin Hsien-tang were the foremost pioneers of Taiwan’s non-violent political and cultural movements during the Japanese colonial era. Together, they founded the Taiwanese Cultural Association in 1921 to awaken Taiwanese national consciousness, subsequently championing separate political, economic, and democratic reforms.
