Super Mario 64/Courses
Each of the 15 main levels has seven stars to collect, with one red coin star and one 100-coin star. There are 15 additional stars to collect.
Bob-omb Battlefield
[edit | edit source]Bob-omb Battlefield is the first course of Super Mario 64. To get there, you enter the castle and go to the left-most brown door.
Inside the course, the player needs to climb a mountain and throw bombs at King Bob-omb to beat him. King Bob-omb is ball-shaped like the other bombs, but is several times as large.
For another star, the player needs to ground-pound the wooden piece that holds the Chain chomp, a large black ball with mouth which makes barking sounds, three times to make him jump against the bars to break them, allowing to access the star.
Whomp's Fortress
[edit | edit source]Whomp's Fortress is the second course of Super Mario 64.
Jolly Roger Bay
[edit | edit source]Jolly Roger Bay is the third course in Super Mario 64, and the first of the two water courses. In the course, the player explores a sunken ship and an abandoned cave.
Cool, Cool Mountain
[edit | edit source]Cool, Cool Mountain is course 4 of Super Mario 64.
Tall, Tall Mountain
[edit | edit source]Tall, Tall Mountain can be accessed from the painting with the mushrooms on the second floor of Princess Peach's Castle. In the level, there are numerous mushroom platforms to jump from.
Star requirements
[edit | edit source]Note that you can use glitches to enter levels (besides Tower of the Wing Cap and Big Boo's Haunt) earlier. You also cannot get the first and second MIPS before 15 and 50 stars, respectively, nor the first, second and third Toads before 12, 25 and 35 stars respectively.
