Saluto, Jonathan!

Saluto, Jonathan! (Hello, Jonathan!) is the story of a young Englishman who goes to visit his friend in another European country. It is written entirely in the language Novial. It begins with very simple language. The words the reader knows are repeated and new words are added slowly and in context, so that no dictionary is required to read it.

The original version from which the Novial translation is based, Salute, Jonathan!, was authored by Dave MacLeod in 2019 in the language Occidental.

Otto Jespersen's works An International Language (1928) and Novial Lexike (1930) are to be used as the bases for the grammar and vocabulary (respectively) of Novial in this story.
