Definition (representation):

Let $G$ be a group and let ${\mathcal {C}}$ be a category. A representation of $G$ on an object $A\in \operatorname {Obj} ({\mathcal {C}})$ is a group homomorphism $\pi :G\to \operatorname {Aut} ({\mathcal {C}})$.
