Chapter 1. Introduction to Ornithology[edit | edit source]

Ornithology (from Ancient Greek words ὄρνις (meaning "bird") and λόγος (meaning "rationale" or "explanation") is defined as the branch of zoology that concerns the study of birds.

This includes their form, functions, ecology, physiology, natural history, reproduction, distribution, and evolutionary history.
