Inkscape offers a variety of export options, here are the formats as of Inkscape v0.91:

  • Vector graphic formats (>File >>Save As...):

    • Windows Metafile (*.wmf)
    • PovRay (*.pov) (paths and shapes only)
    • JavaFX (*.fx)
    • OpenDocument drawing (*.odg)
    • LaTeX With PSTricks macros (*.tex)
    • Desktop Cutting Plotter (AutoCAD DXF R14) (*.dxf)
    • GIMP Palette (*.gpl)
    • HP Graphicsl Language file (*.hpgl)

Limitations: Inkscape is currently unable to export to the following formats:

  • Adobe Illustrator (*.ai)
  • Computer Graphics Metafile (*.cgm)
  • CorelDRAW files (*.cdr)
  • Drawing Interchange Format (*.dxf)
