History[edit]

The first PC-50X console was released in 1975.[1][2] The system was designed to be low cost.[3]

Over two hundred variants of the PC-50X were made.[1]

The PC-50x Family petered out over the course of the 1980's.[1][2]

Technology[edit]

PC-50X consoles made use of various General Instruments chips housed in cartridges[1], essentially making these pong consoles that play multiple games via cartridge.
