I believe that the best way to learn a subject is to teach. Practically, it means that I can lecture on the subject or I can write a book on the subject. I have opted to do the latter and the subject of my writing in Philosophy. My aim is to write a History of World Philosophies. Earlier, I had thought about the ways to cover the subject. I sense that merely summarizing the views of the Philosophers was inadequate. So I have decided to make some amendments to my approach. A new approach will consider the socio-political context which will help the reader to understand the formulation of ideas. Secondly, I will begin the book by discussing the basic divisions of Philosophy(Epistemology, Metaphysics, Logic and so on) for I have felt that the reader finds it hard to comprehend the rest of the book it he/she is not familiar/introduced to the basic divisions in Philosophy.
