It is the movement within Christianity that aims at the recovery in thought, in action, and in organization, of the truth between the Churches mission to the world, and the church's obligation to be one.

Ecumenism is the promotion or unity or cooperation between distinct religious groups or denominations of Christianity. It is the coming together of Christian churches for unity and cooperation.
