Taken with bare 100 watt tungsten light bulb in a standard house lamp with the lamp shade removed. The lamp was located right near the camera. The colour balance was a bit yellow, so this was corrected subsequently. A foot switch connected to a remote camera shutter release was used by the subject, to step down on the switch to close the contacts to cause the picture to be taken. A television set was connected to the camera so that the subject could see the image on the TV screen, as if looking into a mirror. In some versions of this picture with the hydraulophone also as part of the picture, an underwater switch was used to release the camera shutter. In this case, additional light source was used to illuminate the water jets.
