Pyruvate_step_2.gif(696 × 260 pixels, file size: 8 KB, MIME type: image/gif)

The factual accuracy of this chemistry-related file is disputed.
The dispute is about: 1) The chemical structure on the left is missing a double bond in the ring. 2) The text "carbanion" should be "carbocation". 3) The resonance structure are incorrect.

Please discuss the issue on this diagram's talk page

This chem image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Pyruvate step 2.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
