Though there can be many variations, a Greek omelet will typically contain some or all of these ingredients:

- eggs,
- a little milk
- some nutmeg
- salt
- white pepper (to create the shell of the omelet)
- gyro meat (or other lamb product)
- crumbled feta cheese and/or fresh mozzarella
- English cucumbers and/or cucumber sauce
- fresh Roma tomatoes
- red onions
In addition, green peppers, egg plant, or kalmata olives may be added.

- Beat eggs
- Chop vegetables
- Cook meat
