Lic. in Midw., F. K. Q. C. P. I. Licensed in Midwifery, Fellow of the King and Queen's College of Physicians of Ireland.[1] In Thom's 1904, Andrew John Horne is described as "ex-Vice-Pres. Royal College of Physicians, Ireland." He was also an examiner in midwifery and F.R.C.P.I (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland).[2] Gifford renders F.K.Q.C.P.I as Former Knight of the Queen's College of Physicians in Ireland, believing that Joyce was thinking of Horne's status as ex-Vice-President of the College. However, on 15 Decdember 1692 the college was reincorporated by the coregents William and Mary, after which it was known as the King and Queen's College of Physicians in Ireland; in 1890, under charter of Queen Victoria, it adopted its present title.
