Bloody Queens: The Fight for the English Throne between a Tudor and a Stuart

When Elizabeth I became Queen of England, she was no longer The Bastard, as the Pope had so cruelly labelled her, but she became Monarch by Divine Right, hence an object of worship.

Elizabeth did not - and could not - anticipate that her cousin Mary Stuart would become a widow at just 18, and be sent back to Scotland. This strange twist of fate will be the beginning of one of the biggest fights for the succession to the throne in the English history!

BBC documentary produced the documentary Bloody Queens that shed light on this incredible historical event.
