The concept of nuclear bomb came up in the second World War. The US had started a project called The Manhattan Project. It was invented by Robert Oppenheimer

A nuclear bomb gets its power from the splitting of Uranium atoms. Splitting atoms releases a huge amount of energy that is normally stored inside them, which is used to create the explosion.

A nuclear bomb is very dangerous and has the potential to kill thousands of people.
