[edit] Stewards

Hi guys,

I saw this: "Goes over the dos and don'ts of administrator actions regarding the deletion of content. These are mainly guidelines to administrator behavior, but can be useful to point at when having a serious dispute with administrators or going before stewards and an arbitration board.". Could someone please explain why the stewards are mentioned here? Stewards do not provide arbitration. Stewards are elected by the wikimedia community to perform administrative tasks which have been decided by the community first. They may have a few buttons, but certainly no mandate to be an arbitration committee of any kind. Thanks for clearifying this in your policy/guideline. Effeietsanders 19:18, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Stewards aren't mentioned in the actual policy. This is an old vote page that was meant to summarize the page's goals and is most likely quite out of date. This is not an issue. Please respond on my talk page if you have any other questions. Thanks. -withinfocus 03:06, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
