[edit] Proposal to merge Wikibooks:Duplicate articles to Wikibooks:Duplicate modules
I am proposing the merger of these two pages. Further, I note that the instructions for using the Template:merge, Template:mergeto, Template:mergefrom, and Template:merging (red link) on the Duplicate articles page are incorrect. I want that the instructions are corrected, the correct instructions are put on the Duplicate modules page, and that Duplicate articles redirects here. I might attempt the merge soon. Comment here. --Kernigh 00:39, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- Merge is complete (including User:Krischik's edits to the duplicate articles page). --Kernigh 21:58, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Redundancy
(moved text from Wikibooks:Staff lounge)
I notice a systematic occurence of redundancy. For example in already three books the same topics on probability are discussed. Not always correct, and not always consistent. I consider this a problem. Is it solvable?Nijdam 23:39, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- Link to the 3 books? Do they all go in depth on probability, or do 2 of them give a brief overview of the subject? Consistancy and correctness can obviously be fixed with time and effort by some contributor. Merging books is a bit harder- more political. --Gabe Sechan 23:59, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- I know that i've thrown together a few sections on probability in in the Signals and Systems book, and i know perfectly well that some of the stuff i said is incomplete (and if my mind was off at the time, the stuff might be completely wrong). The beauty of having a collaborative community is that the people who know the correct answers can come in and tell people what's up. --Whiteknight (talk) (current) 20:38, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
Yes, I also notice redundancy. Have you seen the "merge" tag ( Template:Merge ) ? --DavidCary 05:09, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
