Interface and background[edit source]

There is no book background by default. That's a gadget in your preferences and works with Vector as well. – Adrignola talk 02:02, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can't start a new tab[edit source]

I can't start a new tab from the search bar. Feature or bug? Its complete horrible anyhow! ¨Anon

This is a long-standing problem. Buttons (as a general rule?) don't provide links that can be used for a new browser tab. For example, page history has a button "Compare selected revisions." Hovering the cursor over it, say in Firefox, does not show a URL, as it will with a link. Rather, I think, the browser will generate the URL from user-provided information on the page, depending on which revisions are selected. It's the same with Search. My workaround is to use any simple page link to open a new tab. Ideally, the page opened is short. I sometimes use my user page, or I can take the opportunity to glance at the Main page. Then I do the search from there. The problem is worse with History, really. It's particularly frustrating when browsing on a phone.... --Abd (talk) 19:09, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

With Firefox the easiest work around for this is to add Wikibooks to Firefox's search engines list. --dark lama 14:22, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tiny font size[edit source]

Why can't the font size be changed? It is so tiny I can hardly read it in Safari. Using the browser functions to increase the site makes other parts of the page blow up too big or pixelated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sagamanolis (talk • contribs) 14:03, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Optional components of Book[edit source]

Components like References, External links, Further reading and "See also" should be made optional. Eliminating redundant pieces will save a lot of paper/disk space for a user.

Personal Cloud[edit source]

It will be extremely useful if the rendered book can directly be added to cloud storages (e.g. google drive or dropbox). Project Guetenberg offers this feature.
