Why are you copying a magazine onto wikibooks? --SB_Johnny | talk 10:20, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, a few months ago I wound up emailing Nintendo Power asking if they would mind if I tried to transcribe older Nintendo Power volumes into a wiki format, the response being that so long as the copyright law where I am would allow it, there shouldn't be any reason why not (hence the copyrights on Page pages), and Wikia.com didn't really seem to work as well as WikiBooks would. It's really not good material for wikibooks... but it might be good material for strategy wiki (they can "import", meaning bring the pages over with all changes, so your work so far won't go to waste!). --SB_Johnny | talk 00:15, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Certainly sounds doable, I'll leave it up to you guys in the VFD. Lukahn 00:19, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
It's definitely going to be deleted... I'll make sure it's kept intact until you have a chance to talk to the guys at strategywiki (I'm an admin, so I can undelete if there's problems with the move). --SB_Johnny | talk 00:32, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] StrategyWiki

Hi Lukahn. SB Johnny is correct, your work would be welcome at StrategyWiki The only caveat is that we would prefer that the transcribing be applied to each particular game's guide and not as part of a magazine transcription. For example, you started with Issue 37 which contains an article about Lemmings. We would like to see that article appear as part of the Lemming's strategy guide and not as "Nintendo Power Issue 37 pages x through y." You can create an index to each of the articles as they appear in Nintendo Power, but that would be secondary to the fact that the articles themselves appear in the proper location, and can conceivably be edited by other users, and thus not preserved as a transcription. I realize this may run counter to your goal of preserving the magazines, but we work very hard at maintaining the format and consistency of every contribution so that users of StrategyWiki can find content reliably. That being said, we are flexible and are willing to help new users with their plans, and we would welcome you aboard. Procyon 68.33.196.96 02:06, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
