[edit] Cry for help answered

Yeah that looks great on the honor of marine invertabrates. I went through the honor and simplified some of the answers.

Have you been satisfied with the replies enough to change you position or have you any other reason to oppose the change ?

[edit] Zombies

You deleted my book on Zombies because you thought it was spam or vandalism that was not the case whatsoever. How can i start a new book on Zombies or if i can't then i'll try a different subject. Seabanks (talk) 22:14, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

(just jumping in Jomegat, hope that's ok)
Hello Seabanks. The deletion reason is a standard one. I can see the page wasn't spam or vandalism. The book did not, however, look like it fitted with the guidelines of this project. Wikibooks is for textbooks - instructional manuals basically. A book on the history of belief in zombies, or their role in culture or religion would be okay. What you had written was more like a brief description of a zombie character in a computer game. I've placed a series of links on your talk page - check these out as they tell you what is suitable for WB. Thanks. Unusual? Quite TalkQu 22:19, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Hey QU - no problem jumping in. I deleted it because I thought it was nonsense (the standard reason I chose was nonsense, spam, or vandalism). Take a look at What is Wikibooks to see the type of content we allow here. If you can make a case that a book on Zombies would fit here, I'd be happy to listen. But I think it would be a difficult case to make. I hope my deletion of your work doesn't start us off on the wrong foot! --Jomegat (talk) 22:23, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Simple Wikijunior?

A more simpiler version of Wikijunior for kids there is allready a simple english wikibooks so i dont see why there cant be a simple english wikijunior? Seabanks (talk) 00:23, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

An idea like that would be better proposed in the Reading Room rather than here, as it will get a wider audience there. But I honestly don't see the need for a simpler version of Wikijunior. It already features some pretty simple texts, such as Wikijunior:Alphabet, Wikijunior:Animal Alphabet, and Wikijunior:Numbers from 1 to 20. Simple:Wikibooks is something relatively new, and it was not discussed on en:Wikibooks before it was created. As such, it is really beyond my sphere of knowledge and influence. Please keep thinking about Wikibooks though. I know I may have discouraged you, but I really do value new ideas. Sometimes you can't tell if an idea is crazy or clever until you share it with someone else. Also, sometimes crazy ideas spark clever ideas in others. So keep them coming! And if you do want to create a simple Wikijunior text, I say go for it. Just remember that it should be non-fiction and educational. --Jomegat (talk) 02:48, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Wikijunior:Nazi Germany

i added this and cleanup is needed. 72.73.125.14 (talk) 14:56, 27 October 2009 (UTC) thought maybe you could help? 72.73.125.14 (talk) 14:56, 27 October 2009 (UTC) ty. 72.73.125.14 (talk) 14:56, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

What sort of help are you looking for? (I don't have the time to write a book on Nazi Germany). --Jomegat (talk) 16:39, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Who could I ask for help with this? Or where can i post an announment? 71.254.103.209 (talk) 02:50, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Unless I'm mistaken, you already announced it in the Wikibooks:Reading room/Projects. That's as good a place as any. You should not be surprised that no one has jumped in and helped just yet. Wikibooks is a much smaller project than Wikipedia, and most of the contributors here have their own projects they are working on. It could be that no one who is interested in your topic has come along yet. Your best bet is to keep adding content, and understand that you may very well be the one who ends up writing nearly all of it. If you know of an online community with an interest in this topic, recruit them to help. The regulars at Wikibooks will be happy to help with formatting as the text develops. Read Using Wikibooks for tips on organizing the book. It would also be a good idea for you to register an account and be logged in when you edit. Having an account actually makes you more anonymous, since only a few admins (Check Users) can see your ip address (from which your location can be roughly established). It also gives your input greater weight and better integrates you into the WB community. --Jomegat (talk) 03:00, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
