[edit] Preventative Block
Hello. Looking at the series of page creations, it looks like you were running either a script or an unauthorised bot. Hopefully this was a one-off accident, however, just in case I've blocked you for now. Once you've fixed whatever the problem is, just reply here and an admin will unblock you. Thanks Unusual? - Please unblock me. The issue was a runaway browser plugin. It created some pages that I did not intend, as well as some pages that I did intend. I have requested deletes on the pages that should be deleted, the other ones should remain as those can be used as a starting point for further edits. Thanks a lot for helping out and my apologies for any inconvenience. Cheers. Dreftymac (talk) 17:21, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

- Additional details and issues:
-
- * block ID is #21133.
- * It appears that *all* of the page creations done on the date in question were deleted, although I requested only deletes on about five of them
- * The additional items that were deleted were intended for use and continuing active edits
- * I hereby request permission/instructions on how to restore the pages that were deleted
- * I hereby request permission/instructions on how to re-create the pages if the previous request is not possible
- * I hereby request information necessary to allow bulk-edit operations such as the ones I carried out from being erased

- Can you request the page restore at the Reading Room please? I'm not clear why you would want 200+ randomly named pages with no content, so I think this should be discussed first. Thanks. Unusual? Quite TalkQu 19:48, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

- Alright, I will be happy to explain. I am also happy to consider alternative approaches, if necessary to prevent the appearance of superfluous and unwanted content. (I have posted | here.

- On another issue, could you please identify what steps I need to take if I want to perform a bulk-edit operation and not have the bulk edit overridden as an action of an "unauthorized bot"? I have several hundred pages of content for this book and it would be pretty burdensome to cut-n-paste each individual page one at a time. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
