Danny, welcome to Wikibooks!

I see you've been adding pages for the wikijunior project, and might have run up against a possible module naming issue. The Wikijunior Solar System page links to Mercury, which is currently not a page I'd suggest we send 10 year olds to. Additionally, all of the chemistry wikibooks, both of the existing astronomy wikibooks, and perhaps the medicine wikibooks might also desire a link to that page. For that reason we generally like it if some form of disambiguator is assigned to each book's modules preemtivly. Having said that, we've never established a standard system, but [[Book Title:Module Title]], [[Book title: Module title]], [[Module title (book title)]], and [[Book title - Module title]] are some of the more common conventions used. I prefer the psudo-namespace options, as there are talks of assigning every wikibook its own namespace. (see Help:Namespaces)

You also might like to checkout some of the content we have already developed. For example, the GAT book may have some useful modules for the Solar System project.

[edit] Wikijunior Solar System

Hello Danny, Thanks for your comments on WikiJunior Solar System. At the rate things are going, I'd be surprised if the magazine material were ready in 3 weeks. But I am making an effort to encourage people to stop adding content and start whipping it into shape. I am not certain there will even be a decision on the Kiki character by then, let alone the drawings we need.

Are you Danny Wool? WikiMediaFoundation Grantwriter? Can you give us some more information about the grant? Like telling us all more about who the Beck Foundation is, why they want these booklets, who they will be distributed by and how? Even at this stage of the project, I think it would help understand what to do with the book. The information at Wikijunior is not complete.

I stumbled onto the project a bit late, but I am still wondering why we didn't contact NASA about turning their solar system website into an educational booklet. I imagine that NASA might be willing to do that sort of thing if we could give them concrete information about the grant and the grantor.

Thanks for contributing to the module on Venus. Would you have any interest in signing up for any of the tasks on the proofreading plan? Do you think anyone will be interested in following a plan like that? Should I ditch the plan as a bad idea? Thanks for your thoughts on the proofreading process. --SV Resolution 02:20, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
