Hello, Daniel. I would be glad to contribute to your Slavic false friends list, but could you explain me how to edit the module? Should I enter the words in the table? Don't you think that's not quite practical? Are there other separate pages within the module to edit them and enter false friends there? Well, strictly speaking, the difference can be only stylistic, since the instrumental case is here the case of the so-called "copula subject." I don't know Polish well enough to decide which half of the subject to render in the instrumental. In Russian, there's nothing wrong with saying "Glavnye jazyki stranicy byli ...polskim i russkim", which is the same as "Russkij i polskij byli glavnymi jazykami stranicy." "Glavnymi jazykami stranicy byli russkij i polskij" is stylistically marked. -VKokielov

- "merdać" - pol. "to move a tail (dog)", cz. "to fuck"
- "odbyt" - pol. "anus", cz. "sale, market"

- Please, could you not just add the 'false friends' in question on the respective page yourself? Sorry, but I haven't got the time to make edits other people want to make. The idea of a Wiki is that people can edit it themselves. Apart from that, you will see that you have to enter more information than you gave me, e.g. the Polish word for 'to fuck' and the Czech word for 'to wag the tail'. Таке визначення подається в словнику як історичне. Також я мав на увазі, що коли в сучасній українській мові вживається руський щодо означень доби Русі, то це має значення східнослов'янський. А якщо "руський" вживається щодо пізніших часів (коли паралельно існували етноніми "Русь" і "Україна"), наприклад щодо Галичини 19ст. ("Центральна Руська Рада" та ін.), то синонімом тут виступає слово "український" а не "східнослов'янський". --Yakudza 23:17, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
