Indiana is a text book rental state. Every completed open text book that can beat out the commercial competition is an immediate tax cut for Indiana families with children in school. I believe that if every school district notified parents about these potential savings when they're writing their yearly textbook fee checks, free and open text books would quickly improve and become the dominant force in the text book rental states.
