I am a Perl afficianado. After learning Perl in 1998, I started teaching Perl for two years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I am a frequent poster to comp.lang.perl.misc. During 2003 I was contracted by Atomic Dog Publishing to create the supplemental material for a proposed online edition of "Learning Perl", by Randal Schwartz (which was eventually scrapped due to miscommunication by Atomic Dog and O'Reilly).
My only goal at Wikibooks is to expand and impove the Perl book.
