Self Portrait Of Luvodicus, Maryland 2008

Contents

[edit] Origin

Finding himself upon the streets of Rhy' Din, A young man enters the realm of cyberspace, and begins staking a claim for his presence. Roleplaying in AOL chat rooms, he establishes a persona for use over the internet. Far from his introverted, average appearance, when he is online, he is suave, intelligent, mysterious. He quickly makes friends, though many are lost over time.

Near the age of 18, Luvodicus stumbles across a program used to create and design role playing games. Downloading the program, Luvodicus gains interest in video game design. Several months later, he disregards the program in favor of a more professional game development software. During the time spent with RPG Maker 2000 Luvodicus joins a RM2k3 Community Forum on GamingWorld.

Several years later, Luvodicus rediscovers the program, this time, in its infancy of a new release, RPG Maker 2003 Taking more interest in the simplicity of this program, Luvodicus begins designing several custom systems. Feeling the task is a bit too large for him to create and design a game on his own, he tends to work on system creation, make custom menus, and custom features, like day/night system, and in-game journals to name a few. He is currently still active in the GamingW forums, most notably in the RM2k3 Support and Role Playing forums.

[edit] Role in Wikipedia

After creating a tutorial describing how to create a working chest (a very common support issue of new users to RM2k3) Luvodicus was denied posting the tutorial on many sites, (Wikipedia, GamingW Wiki) Luvodicus finally finds a place to post his contribution. His tutorial will be updated by himself, and he is hoping others will contribute as well.

[edit] Role in Arcanists (funorb.com)

Luvodicus one of the founding members of Scholae Palatinae, a clan/guild for the game Arcanists on Funorb.com (JAGEX). Luvodicus acts as an Admin to SP's website, and has played Arcanists since 3 days after its launch. Luvodicus is a mid-level player with moderate skills.

Luvodicus' first clan for Arcanists was MotA (Masters of the Arcane). MotA was lead by user "Skillowns" and at the time Luvodicus joined MotA, it had around 5 active members. The first impression of Luvodicus on the Arcanists front is his cocky, competitive nature. After his initial evaluation, he immediately challenged a higher ranked officer of Mota. Although he lost the match, his challenge left an impression upon the officer, and it would not be forgotten.

Within a few weeks, many of the clansmen became heavily inactive including the Clan Leader, Skillowns. Some of the more skilled members of MotA intended on splitting from the clan, creating their own. One officer, username Arcanism, suggested these players to become an elite division of MotA.

After some discussion, and a suggestion by username Moogle198 of using the name Scholae, Luvodicus took this name one step further by naming the newly born division: Scholae Palatinae, The full title being Mota: Scholae Palatinae. It was thought that, if MotA was the funorb.com Roman Army, then this faction would be its elite squadron, and Skillown's personal army.

After posting this new development onto the MotA forums, Clan Leader Skillowns attributed the squadron as treason and expelled the offending members out of MotA.

Luvodicus, one of the "rebels" to be expelled, spent some time with no "home". It was in this transitional period that Luvodicus and Arcanism made friends and allies with username Supertech1. Opening his server, and creating a forum for information and gatherings, Scholae Palatinae soon became a dominating force in FunOrb. Many Large and Famous users joined their ranks, and the infamous Zezima continues to be known as the Scholae Mascot. Zezima can occassionally be found in Scholae Palatinae's Team Speak.

The release of the "Nature Book" brought on a large and troublesome challenge. Many users would use one of the Nature Book's spells, known as "Vine Bridge", as a trap, and not a bridge at all. After hundreds of heated conversations, several debates, and Luvodicus' stance that, he "will not restrict or ban the use of a spell that Jagex(funorb) themselves cannot ban or restrict", many members retailiated, rebelled, and eventually quit. Few were exiled, but only for their actions against Luvodicus' stance. ((In Luvodicus' defense, he also stated that he "can restrict the type and and use of spells during Clan Events"))

With the "Vine Rebellion" over, the Scholae seemed doomed to failure. Luvodicus, taking full charge of the clan, having lost half of his members, including Arcanism, a Clan Founder, Luvodicus brought the Limping clan from a low ranked guild, to a powerful, and number one ranked clan. The Clan is ranked Number One in both Average User Rating, and Clan Member Count.

The Officer He Challenged in MOTA still holds respect for Luvodicus, and Luvodicus considers him a Great Ally and Close Friend.

[edit] Luvodicion Faith

After major rolls in revitalizing Scholae Palatinae some of his clan members consider him some sort of god to be worshiped. A member of the Luvodicion faith is required to pray five times a day to Luvodicus, with the words: "How great is Luvodicus, how great he is indeed. We bow now to symbolize our everlasting yearning for his grace. May Luvodicus lay blessings soon us and keep us safe, may he forever remember his humble followers and show them mercy forever to come. In the name of Luvodicus we pray, Amen."

[edit] Personal Life

Working from 12:00 PM to 10:00 pm on an almost daily basis, Luvodicus heads home each night to relax in front of his computer, or television. An avid movie goer, as well as a rabid video game fan, Luvodicus also spends time with his friends, or he'll read. When others visit his house, he is known to be found behind the computer desk, in his "privacy nook". He is a supporter of the legalization of marijuana, Domestic Abuse Awareness, and an all around, general feel good, kitten loving nice guy.

You can leave him messages on his "talk" page...
